OOTD: Corporate Comfort

My law school has a strict corporate dress code and every other day I have professors who are sticklers for the rule and being the obedient student, I obey. Initially I was only going to wear the cardigan as a cover up but it just felt so soft and warm that I had to wear it as a top! It felt like being in bed despite being stuck in lectures for four hours straight. This was also the first time I got to wear my skirt that I had tailored, and I wasn't disappointed with the result. Getting larger sizes for corporate wear is difficult in this country and the best alternative is to just get them tailored. My belt is also custom-made. Again, sizes run small in that department! Although there are more and more places that offer larger sizes it's still not enough to satisfy all my sartorial needs (which are, to be honest, not that many).

I wears: Cardigan worn as a top- Lane Bryant (thrifted); Skirt - Tailored; Shoes- M+Y; Belt- Custom-made; Pearl earrings - From my mother

Apologies for the blurry photos! It was raining hard this afternoon and since I'm still not comfortable with asking people to take my pictures for me I had to make do with my tablet. As soon as the weather clears and/or I get the courage to ask someone else to take my photos I promise I won't post such blurry images. Hope you all have a lovely day/evening, whether or not it's raining in your area!

Much love,
I.

Blog Redux

If you're following this blog and are suddenly surprised that an unfamiliar poster has popped up on your dashboard, don't be alarmed. We've decided to get this site moving again after more than a year of absence, but it's proving quite difficult to get back into the habit! The only way to start is to jump right in, so here we go!

Yesterday R and myself attended a cousin's wedding in the outskirts of Manila. This wedding was postponed twice due to my cousin's scheduling conflicts with his job (he works abroad) and at last, on the third attempt, the wedding finally pushed through. It was a small affair but quite lovely in its intimacy, and weddings are always a nice excuse to get dressed up! I was part of the wedding entourage and so the dress I'm wearing in the pictures is what I changed into after my entourage duties were done.
R wears:  Cropped Blazer - H&M ; Lace blouse - Gifted ; Maxi skirt - F21; Shoes - Chelsea; Clutch - Gifted; Belt and Necklace - Landmark
wears: Dress - SM Plus Size Collection; Shoes - So Fab; Pearl earrings - From my mother
It was a night full of laughter, tears (happy ones, of course!) and lots of good food. Definitely not a bad way to spend a Saturday. Weddings are about new beginnings, and hopefully that will also translate to the continued existence of this blog. We've pulled out all our previous posts so we can start fresh and not feel pressured to start where we've left off. Here's to hoping that you'll stick around and see where we'll go with She Said, She Said!

Much Love,
I.
