Brighter Than Sunshine.

They say that when it rains on your wedding day (or on any special occasion), you are being showered with blessings. In this case, my brother and sister-in-law have definitely received more than their fair share. This weekend a super typhoon decided that it wanted to make a little stop in Manila and wreak a little havoc. We woke up on Saturday to flood warnings on TV and text messages from concerned guests asking if we were pushing through or not. But with a little luck and a lot of prayers, we were able to make it happen.

In spite of the bad weather, a lot of people still managed to come to the church and to the reception afterwards. It was heartwarming to be surrounded by friends and family who truly want to be there to celebrate and witness that special day with us. So even though it was gloomy outside, we managed to bring a little sunshine. Hopefully starting off a marriage with a super typhoon and getting through it is a good omen for my brother and my new sister-in-law :)

Here are some pictures!
To give everyone a clear picture of how flooded it was! The water level went down by the time the wedding ended, thankfully.
With our other cousin E. Isn't her dress lovely?
The couple's first dance

Because both of us are part of the entourage (bridesmaid and candle sponsor, respectively) our gowns were custom made along with the rest. My sister-in-law wanted a pastel coloured theme wedding so we have blush pink, powder blue, and lilac gowns. We were able to pick our gown designs though (this was my inspiration, while I opted for a hi-lo dress style). To complete our look, we all wore grey fascinators. I thought it was a nice touch to our outfits, breaking the very girly feel of the pastels. Here's a closer look at our gowns, sorry for the poor image quality!
Hope everyone had a love-filled weekend as well x

Let the rain fall, I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
And it's brighter than sunshine

Never too old for kiddie parties

Hi everyone, sorry for the lengthy absence! Life got in the way, as usual and unfortunately. These photos were just a few we managed to snap at our niece's 1st birthday party which was about two weeks ago. I know, bad blogger etiquette, no? But don't worry, we've got an interesting post coming your way, I'll let R tell you about it later :)

R wears: Chambray shirt - Thrifted; Aztec print skirt - F21; Sandals - Fashionshow; Long necklace - Gifted; Hot pink satchel - SM Department Store

I wears: Silk long-sleeved blouse - Thrifted; Shorts and necklace - 168; Sandals - Montenegro Bay Club via Payless; Bangles - F21

No photos of the actual kiddie party because come on, the cupcakes weren't going to eat themselves, were they? Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, more from us soon! x

Much love, I
